Two of our first graders were recently featured on the Kid's Page of the Springfield State Journal Register in the Weekly Writing Corner. They submitted an example each of alliteration. Alliteration had been discussed in their guided reading group and they decided to give it a try.

PAL awards are given quarterly to students who try to do their best, are kind to others and good role models for their classmates.

Lunch With the Deputy
Students who are well behaved, kind to others and show the ability to lead are selected to have lunch with the sheriff's deputy. They eat pizza and are given the opportunity to ask the deputy about his job.
